Ardmore, Lower Merion Township, PA — At approximately 12:45 AM on Sunday the Lower Merion Police were dispatched to Ardmore Avenue at Lancaster Avenue for A disturbance between a Center City cab driver and a passenger who had traveled Ardmore.
The cab driver picked up the fare in Center City Philadelphia. The passenger requested to be taken to W. Athens Ave. in Ardmore and when the taxi arrived near the W. Athens Ave. location the cab stopped and the passenger flung open the door and took off on foot.
The cab driver immediately abandoned his cab, and he started chasing the passenger on foot. The driver caught up with the man just as the police arrived. The police report catching up with Rapuano and the cab driver and while trying to sort out the dispute, the man’s father was contacted and request to pay for the ride. The father refused. Police investigators allege that Rapuano alcohol on his breath, slurred speech, and bloodshot eyes
Nathaniel David Rapuan0 of the 7800 block of Ellen Ham Rd. in Towson, MD, was arrested by the Lower Merion Police Department. While searching the suspect and readying him for transport to police headquarters police searched the man and found a glass vial of white powder that had been secured with the black screw cap. Officers performed a drug field test on the substance, and it came back positive for cocaine.
Rapuano went before Magisterial District Judge Scott T Palladino on drug charges, and he was released on $5000 unsecured bond. John I. McMahon Jr., Esq of Norristown represented Rapuano whose next scheduled court appearance will be before Magisterial District Judge Michael P. Quinn on June 13, 2019.
