Ardmore, PA -- While on patrol in Ardmore on November 28, 2018, at 2:50 PM, an observant Lower Merion Police Officer witnessed the driver of a blue Jeep Liberty driving erratically at Lancaster Avenue and Station Road. The driver reportedly made an illegal right-hand turn which was followed by another abrupt turn raising the officer's suspicions.
Dahvan Naylor, 22 of 404 Croydon Road, Upper Darby, PA was handcuffed and searched at the scene. The vehicle he was driving had been stolen that same day from Upper Darby Township.
Police found that the Jeep displayed a “dead plate” which is a non-registered license plate.
Naylor was transported to Lower Merion Police headquarters where he was fingerprinted and checked for visible tattoos that could be used by tattoo recognition software. Naylor was charged with a 3rd class felony for receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of a vehicle and other related traffic offenses.
The vehicle was towed to the police impound lot and the Upper Darby PD was notified of the vehicle recovery and arrest.
A search of a commercial, criminal database revealed to the TAPinto team a Facebook account that matched the description and data for Naylor. We reached out to him for comment on his arrest but have not heard back. Since we could not confirm that the FB account was positively his, we have not run further information or his picture.
