Bala Cynwyd, PA — A woman driving a car on the morning of New Year's Eve, struck a vehicle parked outside of the Bala Cynwyd, PA, 7-Eleven and then after a confrontation with the vehicle's owner, maced the man before fleeing the scene, said officials from the Lower Merion Police Department.

Fatima Pickens, 21, of 5100 Kershaw Street in Philadelphia has been charged with simple assault and other charges in connection with the incident that occurred on December 31 at 11:13 AM.

While inside the 7-Eleven store at 169 E. City Ave. in Bala Cynwyd, a man watched a car drive into and strike his car, Police said.

The man left the store and approached the accident but saw the woman who hit his vehicle attempting to flee the scene in her car, Police reported. 

The man took out a cell phone, police said, and tried to take pictures of the vehicle that hit his and its license plate.

While doing this the woman stopped, got out of her car, and attacked him with pepper spray, according to police documents.

After attacking the man, the woman ran back to her vehicle, and drove off onto City Avenue, Police said.

The Lower Merion Police Department investigators obtained and reviewed surveillance footage from the 7-Eleven store security camera system.

According to those investigators, the report given by the man that was maced and had his car hit was corroborated by the video.
