Villanova, PA —  As a part of its Main Line campus redevelopment plan, Villanova is adding its first on-campus restaurant in August, The Refectory. The restaurant is in the works with a partnership with Greg Dodge, the director at the Zavino Hospitality Group.

The Refectory will be serving amped up American classic dishes in a bar/grill style eatery. The restaurant will seat 200 or more patrons in a casual yet refined atmosphere. It will be the first full-service restaurant on campus.

Being Villanova is not a dry campus, alcohol will be a staple on the menu. No other dining halls currently serve beer or wine, except Finneran Pavilion during basketball games. Making the separate bar that will seat 18 guests a sure standout feature.

Aside from the restaurant and bar area, The Refectory will boast a private party vault room for special events and private tastings. Villanova University President, Peter M. Donohue, hopes the restaurant will serve as a campus and community common ground to bring everyone together over good food.

With the location set for the corner of Lancaster and Ithan Avenues, The Refectory will stand next to the future Performing Arts Center set to be completed in 2020. It is also within the new residence halls, The Commons which was a part of the major $300 million project to convert former parking lots.

Over the last few years, Villanova University has sustained a massive facelift. Donohue hopes the addition of The Refectory will benefit not only students but The Main Line residents as well.
