Ardmore, Lower Merion Township, PA — Ask anyone at the Merion Fire Company of Ardmore, who has responded to the most calls and the answer will be Harry W.  Hicks, III. Those same members and the community are mourning the loss of Harry Hicks, a dedicated 50-year member, and friend.

Hicks, responded to well over 11,000 calls for service while with the Fire Company.

“He served the fire company with distinction, not only as a firefighter but moving up through the ranks to assistant chief,” said Chief Tom Hayden.  He served the fire company on the board of managers. Hicks volunteered to serve on many committees, and he helped guide the company internally and externally.

Friends are invited to call on Saturday, April 13th at 9 a.m. at the McConaghy Funeral Home, 328 W. Lancaster Ave. in Ardmore.  The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m.at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Paul's Cemetery.
