Montgomery County, PA — Sometimes, all it takes is a subtle gesture to inspire people to give back. In the case of local children’s author Alessandro Reale, it all began with a Tweet, a video game company, and Keanu Reeves.

At this year’s E3, one of the largest video gaming conferences in the world, gaming company CD Projekt Red announced that action movie star Keanu Reeves would be starring in their latest video game, Cyberpunk 2077, due to be released next year. During the presentation, Reeves came out to greet the audience and told them they were all “breathtaking,” at which point YouTuber Peter Sark yelled back, “You’re breathtaking.”

For his kind statement, CD Projekt Red offered Sark a free Collector’s Edition of their upcoming game. Sark requested that they instead donate to a children’s hospital via the charity Gamers Outreach.

Author Alessandro Reale, who had been avidly following E3 this year, was inspired by Sark’s request and reached out to him via Twitter. Reale offered to donate 20 copies of his children’s books to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, as well as donating a copy of his award-winning story, Only One Samantha, to The Nataline Sarkisyan Foundation, a charity in memory of Sark’s sister, who passed away from leukemia back in 2007.

Reale is no stranger to giving back. Two years ago, he donated copies of his children’s books to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia as a Christmas gift. Just this past fall, he donated copies to a local charity, Kisses for Kyle, and offered to read for some of the children. In addition to all this, Reale has committed to donating all profits from the sales of Only One Samantha to the Children’s Literacy Initiative.

“I have a talent for writing,” says Reale. “And I’m going to use that talent to help out any way I can, whether it’s by including a helpful message in my stories or simply donating to a charity. I’m hoping that people like Sark can inspire others to give back as well. We need more people like that in the world.”

Reale has authored three young children’s storybooks, a children’s chapter book, and two young adult fantasy novels, all of which can be purchased on Amazon. He is currently working on several projects and hopes to collaborate with more charities in the next few months.
