Man Sentenced for Videotaping Women in Gladwyne Bathroom
Norristown, Montgomery County, PA — A Montgomery County man was sentenced for attempting to use his cellphone to record women while they were in the bathroom at the Philadelphia Country Club, in Gladwyne.
Michael Pierce McKenna, 34, of the 500 block of Ridge Pike, in Whitemarsh Township, was sentenced to seven days to 23 months in the county correctional facility in Eagleville for the incident that occurred in back in February 2017. McKenna pled guilty in Montgomery County Court to misdemeanor charges of possession of an instrument of crime and harassment in connection with the incident.
Authorities reported that McKenna had placed his cellphone in the ceiling of the bathroom, while standing on the toilet seat, in an attempt to record women using the bathroom.
A female employee reportedly found the cell phone and tried to access it. The device was locked, and she then turned it over to management who then notified the LMPD.
Judge William R. Carpenter, accepted a plea agreement in the case. After McKenna's incarceration is completed, he must complete one year of probation, and he will remain under court supervision for three years. McKenna will also receive counseling.
The judge ordered McKenna to have no contact with the victim as a condition of the sentence.
McKenna was represented by defense attorney Cary B. McClain who negotiated the plea agreement.
