The Lower Providence Township Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in tracking down a suspect. According to a release from the township, a teenage girl reported that a male asked her for a ride home, and asked for her contact information as she walked along Grange Avenue.
“On Sept. 30 at approximately 7:30 p.m., the Lower Providence Police Department received a report of a suspicious person from the parents of a 17-year-old female,” said the police department’s release. “The juvenile reported that she was approached by a vehicle operated by a white male on North Grange Avenue near Old Baptist Road at approximately 4:45 p.m.
The teen reported to police that she was uncomfortable with the contact.
“The male asked if she needed a ride home and solicited her contact information,” said police reports. “The juvenile declined his offer and walked to a nearby home. The vehicle then left the area.”
Police are trying to find out more information about the man that approached the teen girl. The driver is described as a white male, mid 30s, with a brown “buzz cut” style of hair. He is reportedly clean-shaven and average build.
“He was wearing a camouflage hooded shirt with ‘Duck Dynasty’ in white letters on the chest,” said reports.
Police are also seeking the vehicle he was driving, to find possible leads to the suspect.
“The vehicle was described as a light gray newer model quad cab pickup truck, possibly a Ford,” said the release. “It was dirty with a tinted rear window and nothing in the rear bed area.”
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have information on the vehicle or driver is asked to contact Lower Providence Police detectives at 610-539-5901.
