Lower Providence Township residents hoping to make it all the way to Broadway have a great opportunity to take the first step on Friday, March 14. It may seem odd that the road from Eagleville to New York runs by way of Philadelphia, but the route might just be the one to take.

According to a release, the Disney Theatrical Productions will hold an open call audition for male dancers for both the Broadway and upcoming North American touring productions of Newsies, the Tony Award®-winning Broadway musical smash, in Philadelphia on Friday, March 14 at 4 p.m. at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, located at 1101 Arch St. in Philadelphia.

“This audition will be first come, first serve and is for technically-trained Equity and non-Equity male dancers between 16 and 22 years old of all ethnicities who can tap and sing well,” said Carole J. Morganti, of CJM Public Relations, who handles the press for the show. “This audition will be overseen by Lou Castro, the associate choreographer for ‘Newsies,’ who has worked on the Broadway productions of “Women on the Verge,” “13,” “Sunday in the Park with George” and “Altar Boyz.”
