Join us as we celebrate 5 years of running and fighting rare cancers at the Sunshine Striders 1-Mile Fun Run!
Kids - Bring your sneakers and your fast feet to 208 Longwood Ave in Chatham, NJ on Saturday, September 28th. After you run, celebrate with friends and neighbors. There will be pizza, popsicles, bounce houses, face painting, a photo booth, a DJ and lots more fun.
Parents - Go to www.sunshinestriders.com to register your child. There is no registration fee (yes, this event is FREE!) however we suggest a $25 donation per participant.
Race t-shirts are guaranteed to those who register by September 10th.
Once registered for the event, please remind your friends and family to go to www.sunshinestriders.com to support your child’s run or to join the event too.
Stroller participants are welcome, but we ask that they move to the back of the race at the start.
Parking will be available behind Chatham High School. Please follow signs to the race start from the parking lot.
Please, no pets, no bikes, no scooters. This is a footrace only.
Why should you and your kids JOIN THE BATTLE? This event raises awareness and funding for rare cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, through Cycle for Survival and alongside the adult spinning team, Pedaling Sunshine (www.pedalingsunshine.com) Did you know that rare cancers account for about 50% of all cancers being treated, and that all pediatric cancers are considered rare? Because rare cancers are so diverse in nature, they are dramatically underfunded, and patients are often left with no treatment options. This is unacceptable.
Since kids can’t reach the pedals on a spinning bike, we created this event so that kids could take part in the fight against cancer. Just like the fundraising for the adult team, Pedaling Sunshine, EVERY DOLLAR raised by the Sunshine Striders will go directly to rare cancer research at MSKCC where doctors are working hard to find cures. This type of funding is making a real difference in cancer treatments and outcomes across the world.
