Hayashi is an author of seven martial arts books and a frequent contributor to the national martial art community. He has studied Okinawan Karate, Aikido, Tai Chi, Kobudo, Esoteric Monastic Kempo and is an expert in Kiko the Okinawan equivalent of Chinese Chi Kung.
