MADISON, NJ - The Madison boys’ soccer team opened their season with an impressive comeback over Passaic High School this Friday night.

The first half was not looking good for the Dodgers, as the first 40 minutes of the game were dominated by Passaic who had a 1-0 lead at half time.But this did not discourage Madison and they started the second half strong. Although Passaic got another quick goal, Madison got right back in the game with a goal by freshman Mattias Hendrickson. He was assisted by senior Lucas DiGiacomo. An own goal then tied up the game at 2-2.

Ocampo put in a stellar goal in the 78th minute to put Madison ahead. Six saves by junior goalie Brendan Armstrong and an exceptional effort by the defenders also helped secure the win. The final score was 3-2.

The team looks for another victory in their first in-conference game against Kinnelon this Wednesday. They are playing in a new, redesigned conference this year, and Madison is looking forward to an eventful season.
