Central New Jersey Home to Acclaimed Doo-Wop Acapella Group

Living a dream and checking things off of their bucket list, the doo-wop acapella sensation Re-MemberThen is quickly becoming one of the mainstay doo-wop acts in the New Jersey and Pennsylvania region.

And you can enjoy a fantastic afternoon with Re-member Then at 2PM, Friday, Feb 24th at the New Providence Memorial Library.

The a capella group consists of Frank Cicerale, falsetto, lead, and the group’s founder, who previously performed with the Jives, Rendezvous, Bobby D Revue, and the a capella group Doo-Wop Nites; Jim Offner, First Tenor and Lead, who formerly was a member of the Del Vals acapella group and the group City Limits; Marty Geliebter, Second Tenor and Lead, a former member of the a capella groups The Shades, Air Force groups, and numerous street-corner groups in Brooklyn, New York; Harry Maitland, who sings Tenor, Baritone, and Lead, started singing in the late 1950s and has dabbled in country rock, has performed with the Music Box Rock & Roll Band, and most recently was a member of Back In Tyme; Bill Butkowski, the group’s Bass, started his singing career with the Technitones in 1958, and then sang with the doo-wop band Twilight Time, which included an original member of the Duprees. Butkowski also sang with the a capella groups Magic Moments, Echoes of Time, and recently, Party Of Five.

Since the group’s inception, the five members have risen from the humble beginnings of a home office to being one of the more recognizable groups in the area. Past accolades and events include appearing on Sam Edwards' Reading, PA based doo wop television show; numerous appearances on the The Doo Wop Drive radio show hosted by Alan David Stein; recording an original jingle for the Doo Wop Drive radio show hosted by Alan David Stein on WMTR radio; and their first big event, a performance at the Doo Wop Festival at Penns Landing, PA. Recently, Re-MemberThen won arguably the biggest doo-wop event in the state as the group was the winner of the Don K. Reed A capella Sing-Off, held before the Nader Doo Wop Festival concert at the Izod Center in the Meadowlands in June. By winning the contest against three other highly regarded doo-wop a capella groups, Re-MemberThen opened the concert on center stage inside the Izod Center before notable acts such as Lou Christie, The Capris, Kenny Vance and the Planotones, and Tommy Mara and the Crests. More recently, the group was invited to perform at the Lead East Car Show and Music Extravaganza in Parsippany, New Jersey in September 2012.
