SUMMIT, NJ - Continuo Arts will host a series of free open house 'sing-ins' beginning September 10 through September 12, with the goal of the organization's choirs to develop the love of artistic singing, enhance music education, provide global performance opportunities and enrich the lives of its members and communities.

Age group-specific dates include:

September 10 --  Middle and high school boys and high school girls, from 7:30 - 9 p.m.

September 11 -- Children ages 7-11, from 4:30 - 5:45 p.m.; middle school girls, 5:30 - 7 p.m.; and adults, from 7:30 - 9 p.m.

September 12 - Seniors, from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

 For the Children, Youth and Civic Chorale ensembles an audition is required, which can be scheduled after the Open House. There is no prior training required, the audition process is quick and simple and there is no fee to audition. The conductor will listen for pitch retention, range and vocal quality. Singers may bring a selection to sing or learn a simple song at the audition. 

Serving as Choirs-in-Residence for one of the largest production companies in Carnegie Hall, members also have the opportunity to perform in local venues throughout the school year and international venues as scheduled. Upcoming performances include a 2019 appearance at the International Festival of the Aegean in Syros, Greece. Members' resumes also include prestigious concerts in at the Sistine Chapel, forty-two shows for Disney at the Paper Mill Playhouse and many other world-class venues of note. 

Members hail from towns all over New Jersey, including Summit, Westfield, Scotch Plains, Madison, Chatham, Union, Roselle Park, Berkeley Heights, New Providence, Millburn/Short Hills, Maplewood, Mendem, and Clifton.  

All Open Houses take place at the Continuo Arts Conservatory of Music, located at 36 Chatham Road.
