After a scoreless first period, the Dodgers varsity boys ice hockey team turned up the volume on Monday to secure a 4-0 victory over Sparta-Jefferson in the Halvorsen Cup semifinal at William G. Mennen Arena.

Jett Tom got Madison’s first point on the board with about nine minutes remaining in the second period off a pass from freshman Matt Gero. 

Period three brought a trio of Dodger goals, scored by Jacoby Erickson, Kyle Pruzick and Kent Sanchez. Tom and Aidan Niceberg contributed a pair of assists. Gero, Ryan Catlin and Alvin Rhee each ended the game with one assist.

Madison (17-5-1) will continue the chase on Thursday at 7:30 p.m., when the Dodgers go head to head with the West Morris Central Wolfpack (9-7-4) in the Halvorsen Cup final at Mennen.
