MADISON, NJ - The Madison Arts and Culture Alliance, Downtown Development Commission, and Madison Area Chamber of Commerce are presenting a new fall festival, "Fall Back into the Arts" sponsored by Coldwell Banker Realty. It will be held on seven Fridays beginning on September 25 and concluding on November 6. The performances will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Waverly Place. The event is free and open to the public. DDC Chair, Suzy Whitehorn hopes the event will provide a much-needed outlet for residents. “It has been very disappointing for all of us to not be able to hold our usual town wide events this year. And so, we are particularly excited to be able to present “Fall Back into the Arts” as a fun, new source of entertainment and camaraderie in a 2020 pandemic safe environment.”

This event will take off where the popular METC/DDC Downtown Concert Series on Green Village Road ended, offering free quality entertainment to Madison residents. In late May of this year, the Borough Council approved the closing of Waverly Place for outdoor dining, that did not proceed as planned as the restaurant owners made other accommodations that worked better for them. The hope at the time was that this would provide a trial run for an expanded plaza space on Waverly Place. This festival will further this goal. Mayor Bob Conley noted that, “While we just said goodbye to summer it’s great to see that we can still enjoy the outdoors in downtown Madison. Hosting an event with such a great range of entertainment will be a great showcase the heart of our historic downtown. I am looking forward to see everyone on Waverly Place.”

Madison Arts and Culture Alliance (MACA) Director of Arts and Events, Eric Hafen responsible for the entertainment for the event, noted that, “In stressful times, the arts have always been a welcome avenue for escape. The variety of entertainment in this series will make you smile, make you laugh, and make you want to dance. Come on down, you won’t be disappointed.”

We invite everyone to enjoy the great outdoor entertainment and to shop, dine, and play at our local businesses.” In addition, on Friday, October 30 the Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corps Annual Trunk or Treat is planned to coincide with the arts festival.
