MADISON, NJ—As the sun disappeared beneath a waiting horizon and the sky grew darker as night crept in Thursday evening, a crowd of at least 100 people young and old gathered on the Mead Hall lawn at Drew University for Movie Night at Drew.

“Be our guest” for this free event, featuring Emma Watson in the live action version of “Beauty and the Beast,” said the Madison Downtown Development Commission and Drew’s Office of Student Activities, which jointly organized the screening.

Movie Night at Drew is “open to the entire Madison community,” as well as students at Drew, said movie night organizers.

Free popcorn was on hand for the lawn chair carrying, blanket toting movie watchers, who formed quite a long line for a buttery, salty snack just before the film began at 9 p.m.

Drew’s Office of Student Activities thanked the DDC “for their support and assistance throughout the planning and coordination of this event.”
