MADISON, NJ - Ladybugs (coccinellidae) may be little, but they are an extremely beautiful and important component of our gardens.

The Garden Club of Madison (GCM) would like to invite Madison school children to our upcoming Ladybug event at the Madison Green Fair on Saturday April 29, 2017.

Did you know what a grouping of ladybugs is called? The answer is….a loveliness of ladybugs. Learn more fun facts about coccinellidae and participate in a craft event this Saturday at the Madison Public Library between 1:00-3:00 pm. In addition, a local Boy Scout will demonstrate how to build a lady bug habitat.

The GCM will be hosting its first Garden Club of America flower show this October 13-14, called The Rose City: Preserving the Past, Protecting the Future. In addition to various floral design and horticulture classes, there will be a children exhibit dedicated to ladybug habitats which will be open to all Madison school children, We hope Saturday’s exhibition will inspire future horticulturist and conservationists to participate in our flower show later this year. Reservations are not required.
