Jazz, Zen and the Art of Piano Tuning

Jazz pianist, composer and recording artist Jerry Vezza will give his version of "Jazz, Zen and the Art of Piano Tuning" at the Madison Historical Society's annual dinner on Thursday, May 19 at the Madison Hotel starting at 6:00 p.m.

His latest release, "You Are There", "has a feeling of spontaneity and togetherness that is sorely lacking on many current recording" according to the Jersey Jazz Society, "the result is a hip jazz album that is both exhilarating and comfortable".

A performer throughout the metropolitan area with many different jazz artists, he performs with Grover Kemble in a quartet known as "Jazz Jump", with others such as Nancy Nelson, Susan Piper and with a trio consisting of Tom DiCarlo and Glenn Davis. He has recorded a live concert at Shanghai Jazz in Madison, and has also performed at Gulliver's Trumpets, Cecil's, the Community Theater, and Jazz festivals at Drew and Fairleigh Dickinson Universities.
