Proceeds from the Gala and other Friends’ events benefit special library programs, particularly children’s programs, and expanded book and media collections not covered in the library budget.

During the past year, one of the special projects funded by the group was the new outdoor furniture in the courtyard.  With accessibility to Wi-Fi, the courtyard became a popular place to study, work or meet a friend for a sandwich.

Adult education programs sponsored by the Friends include the Drew University mini-courses, Tech Tuesdays and Summer Seminars co-sponsored with the Madison Senior Center.  Music, movies, poetry, team competition and workshops were popular family events.
