The Madison Area YMCA is pleased to announce that the Rosettes Gymnastics Team placed second in the YMCA National Championship held in Savannah, GA, that took place from June 25 through June 30 at the Savannah International Trade Y Convention Center.

The team score was 114—up three points from last year when the Rosettes took third place at Nationals in Milwaukee, WI. The first place team scored 115 points.

Forty teams comprised of 1,900 gymnasts participated at Nationals. The Rosettes competed in Levels 4,5,6,7 and 8. All teams placed in the top three for each division.

Of the many notable accomplishments: Out of 150 gymnasts who competed in Level 8, 18 girls represented the Rosettes—five Rosettes made it to finals where only 25 spots were available.

“We’re extremely proud of the team,” said Ellen Gavin, Madison Area YMCA Gymnastics Director. “The team worked hard and turned out outstanding routines in all levels and divisions.”

The Gymnastics Department practices team unity, determination and highly regards the YMCA core values.
