MADISON, NJ - The Madison Area YMCA will hold its 19th annual Charity Golf Classic on Monday, June 6 at the Fairmount Country Club located at 400 Southern Blvd. in Chatham.

The “Camp for One, Camp for All” dinner reception follows the golf event. Last year’s Charity Golf Classic helped fund 320 weeks of Y summer camp.

"The community is invited to support the Charity Golf Classic that helps make summer camp a reality for many kids by playing, becoming a sponsor, donating an auction item or booking dinner reservations for the reception. Individual players, foursomes and groups are welcome. Golfing and non-golfing sponsorships are available," said event manager Melissa DeSalvo.

CitiGroup Global Markets is the Charity Golf Classic’s presenting sponsor for 2016.

Last year the winning foursome were Matt Strambi of Morristown, James Mongey of Morristown, Brian Gilfillan of Morristown and Michael Gilfillan, Jr. of Madison.

"The event further ensures that children in need can attend YMCA day camps for structured, supervised learning, recreation and summer fun," added DeSalvo.

$495 per individual, includes golfing, lunch, beverages and the dinner reception. As well there is a "swing tips" session golfers are invited to at 10:30 a.m.

Registration and lunch for the 2015 Classic begins at 11:00 a.m. Shot gun start at 12:30 p.m.

If you are not a golfer but would like to support the event. The YMCA encourages you to gather some friends for a table at the dinner reception starting at 5p.m., which includes cocktails, buffet dinner, live and silent auctions, 50/50 (books of 5 tickets are $20), prizes, raffles and the award ceremony. Dinner reservations are available for $100 per person; or book tables of ten for $900.

"There are also opportunities for those who are unable to attend the golf outing or reception but would like to make a donation to sponsor $300 toward “camper”ships, which cover the cost of one camp week for a child who otherwise would not be able to participate," added DeSalvo.

To sign up for tournament spots, book dinner reservations, volunteer, donate a “camper”ship or become a sponsor, please contact Golf Event Manager Melissa DeSalvo at mdesalvo@madisonymca.org or call 973-822-9622 ext. 2248.
