Madison Beats Morris Hills in 8th Inning in First Round of MCT

MADISON, NJ - Alise Bassolino's RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning gave Madison a 7-6 victory over Morris Hills in the first round of the Morris County softball tournament on Tuesday.

Kristina Qualben's RBI single in the bottom of the seventh enabled Madison (8-2) to tie the game and send it into extra innings. Bassolino and Qualben each had three hits for the Dodgers.

Alyssa Debaisse went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in the victory.

Although she allowed six runs, only three of the runs against winning pitcher Stephanie Deeb were earned. She struck out 12 batters and walked two, allowing seven hits, in eight innings pitched for Madison, which had a 5-2 lead before Morris Hills scored four runs in the sixth inning to take a 6-5 lead.
