Madison Boys and Girls Swimming Fall to West Morris Central Despite Some Personal Wins


HACKETTSTOWN, NJ  — The Madison Dodgers Boys and Girls Swimming teams lost to West Morris Central on Friday night at Centenary College. Madison is still looking for their first win, as they are now 0-2 on the season.

Although Madison did not win the meet, there were some personal bright spots for the Dodgers. For the boys, Brendan Fowler won the 200 Free in 1:59:95. Gabe Peralta finished first in the 200 IM at a time of 2:22:32.

Morgen Bruhn came from behind and won the 100 Freestyle in 56:66:00. Freshman Michael Lee won convincingly in the 100 Breaststroke in 1:05:72.

“I’ve been working on my walls a lot and trying to get that good turn,” Fowler said. “Having that as an advantage is a key in swimming."

For the ladies, Laurel Carey came in first in both the 200 Freestyle in 1:59:49 and 100 Butterfly in 1:01:14, while Katie Fabiano won the 200 IM at a time of 2:42:14.

“Our relays definitely need some work going further,” Carey said. “We’ve also been practicing just team bonding and getting closer as a group."

The Dodgers will look to get their first win of the season on Tuesday, December 13 at Drew University against Parsippany.
