Madison Chamber Website Is Now Optimized For Hand-held Devices

MADISON, NJ - Finding borough businesses and events on the move just got a whole lot easier.
For the benefit of consumers, visitors and businesses, the information shown at the Madison Chamber of Commerce’s website,, is now easily accessible via hand-held devices.
“The new mobile site works on a responsive template that automatically resizes the screen based on the device the user is using, whether it’s a smart phone or tablet,” said Karen Giambra, executive director of the Chamber.
“The Chamber launched this capability in early spring after several months of planning and development,” said John Morris, president of the Chamber. “When pulled up on your phone or tablet, the contents and navigation tools of the Chamber’s desk-top website are automatically optimized for easy viewing.”
The hand-held version the Chamber website is engineered to display the most popular pages of the Chamber’s  desk-top website in a mobile-friendly design, Giambra said. “Chamber’s member directory and event pages are the most popular destinations at the website,” she said.
The Board of Directors of the Chamber reviewed several hand-held options for the website, including a Chamber app. “A formal app would have been too costly and too involved for our purposes,” Morris said. “The path we chose has the immediacy and accuracy we were after but without the excessive expense and complications.”
“We made this technology investment so consumers will find our member-businesses and our community events faster,” Morris said. “Please add the Chamber icon to your home screens.”
The website developer for the Chamber is 8fold Integrated Creative Works in Morristown, NJ.
The top of the Chamber homepage has the link to downtown Madison’s Facebook page, The Facebook page is sponsored by the Borough of Madison, the Madison Downtown Development Commission and the Chamber.
