Madison Democrats Announce Leadership Conference

MADISON, NJ - The Madison Democratic Committee has announced that it will kicking off the New Year with its Second Annual Leadership Conference to be held the evening of February 24, 2017 at the Madison Community House from 7:30-9:30 pm.

“The theme of the conference this year will be ‘A Time for Action: Coming Together to Look Forward,’” stated John Hoover, Madison Democratic Committee Chair. "The national election has engaged and energized our members and supporters. Many have come to us asking, 'what can we do?' We are telling them that we all need to look forward and take positive action to effect meaningful change.

How do we do that?  We do it through our supporters’ ideas, their participation, and their actions. We want everyone who attends this conference to leave with something they can do to bring meaningful, positive change – at the local, at the state, and/or at the national level.”

Hoover continued, "We will provide educational information on how our local, county and state government works, and identify our representatives at each level. There will be opportunities to sign up for activities and to talk about issues that residents want to address. There will be speakers on current important issues and topics. We expect that our Madison elected officials and many of our board, committee and commission members will be on hand to help everyone learn how they can best get involved. "

Invited guests include Gubernatorial Candidate Phil Murphy and incumbent State Senator, Governor Richard Codey, Assemblywoman Mila Jasey and Assemblyman John McKeon as well as Mayor Bob Conley and members of the Madison Borough Council.

Hoover concluded, "We invite all interested Madison residents to come out and discuss how we can best affect the future with their neighbors and leaders.  A suggested donation of $30 per person or $50 per couple is requested.  We look forward to having as many residents as possible to come and join the conference."

For more information, interested residents can contact John Hoover at or 973-410-9688.  They are also encouraged to visit the committee’s new website at
