MADISON, NJ – The Madison High School sports teams are a week into the fall season. Through aggressive heat and tough conditions, let’s see how the Dodgers competed over the week.
The Dodgers opened with a 3-2 victory over Passaic on Sept. 7. Down 1-0 at the half, Madison put in three second-half goals. Goal scorers included Mattias Hendrickson and Brendom Ocampo, while Lucas DiGiacomo and Brendan Mulcahy had assists. Goalie Brendan Armstrong made six saves in the win.
Madison (1-1) split meetings with Hackettstown and Eastern to open the season. In a 3-1 victory over Hackettstown, the Dodgers’ Kerrianne McClay put in two goals, while Margaret Sheeleigh also scored. Chase Cmaylo added two assists and goalie Nicole Ducey made 10 saves for Madison, which led 2-0 at the half.
The Dodgers fell to Eastern, 9-0, on Sept. 7. Ducey finished with 20 saves.
Due to early postponements, Madison will play its first game on Sept. 13 against Morristown-Beard.
Madison fell in its season opener to Mountain Lakes, 5-0. The Dodgers (1-1) rebounded with a 3-2 victory over Parsippany on Sept. 11.
The Dodgers defeated Morris Catholic, 26-24, 25-17, in the season opener on Sept. 6. Kathryn Wilt had six kills and seven digs, Eve Sherwood added five digs and three aces and Samantha Paske and Nash Giraldo combined for 13 assists.
Madison (2-0) defeated Hawthorne, 25-14, 25-18, on Sept. 11.
