Madison Falls, 24-15, to Mountain Lakes in Football Opener

MOUNTAIN LAKES, NJ - AJ Schmitz passed for one touchdown and ran for another for Madison, but the Dodgers lost to Mountain Lakes, 24-15, in their opening-night varsity football game Friday.

Madison staged a comeback after falling behind by 18 points. Schmitz connected with David Luttinger on a 20-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter to put Madison on the board.

Early in the fourth quarter, Schmitz ran 25 yards on a quarterback keeper for another TD, and the Dodgers' signal-caller also scored on the two-point conversion run to close the deficit to just three points, 18-15.
