Madison Rotary Contemporary Art Talk Set for March 1

Discover tips and tricks for deciphering contemporary art with Dr. Virginia Fabbri Butera at the Rotary Club of Madison’s next lecture on Thursday, March 1.

Butera will speak at the club’s 7:47 a.m. breakfast meeting at the Madison Area YMCA on 111 Kings Road and return for the 12:15 p.m. luncheon meeting at Rod’s Steak and Seafood Grille, 1 Convent Road in Convent Station.

A professor of art history at the College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown, Butera is also the director and curator of the school’s Therese A. Maloney Art Gallery. She has arranged art exhibitions around the country for more than 40 years.

Butera’s talk will focus primarily on her current exhibition at Maloney, “PAINTING PLUS,” which features multimedia works from artists Pasquale Cuppari, Paul Genader, Joseph Losavio, Ibou Ndoye, Michal Ozeri and Gail Winbury. She will also offer advice on how to meet New Jersey artists and collect local works.
