MADISON, NJ — The Madison School District ranked No. 141 on's "2021 Best Places to Teach".  Niche ranked Livingston as the No. 1 district to teach in, with Millburn and Northern Valley Regional High School District rounding out the top three.

All public school rankings on are based on key statistics from the U.S. Department of Education and millions of reviews submitted by students and parents. Ranking factors included teacher salaries, teacher tenure, teacher absenteeism, student-teacher ratio, as well as the district's overall grade and its grades for administration, health/safety and resources/facilities.

The Madison School District scored and overall A with an A+ in Academics, B+ in Teachers, A- in Clubs & Activities, B+ in Administration, B+ in Food, B- in Diversity, A+ in College Prep, A in Health & Safety, A in Sports and B in Resources  & Facilities.
