MADISON, NJ - Kids from around the town celebrated Dr. Seuss's 112th birthday in their classrooms Wednesday with various activities and presentations.  

"Seuss's birthday is the perfect way conclude 'Read Across America' month," said Joanne Sims, reading specialist at King Road Elementary School.   

Theodor Seuss Geisel was an American writer and illustrator best known for authoring popular children's books under the pen name Dr. Seuss. He was born March 2, 1904 in Springfield, Mass.
 
 
His most famous books include "Green Eggs and Ham," "The Cat In The Hat" and "The Lorax."
 
Dr. Seuss died September 24, 1991 in LaJolla, Calif.
