MADISON – It was another busy day for the Madison High School sports teams on Monday, Sept. 16.
Girls Soccer - The Dodgers (2-1-1) fell to Mountain Lakes, 1-0, in overtime. Kimmi Klingener put in the golden goal on an assist from Alexis Brown in the extra period. Mountain Lakes had an 8-7 advantage in shots on goal. Madison returns to action against Hanover Park on Thursday at 4 p.m.
Girls Volleyball - Madison (4-3) won its second consecutive match by getting past Villa Walsh, 25-14, 25- 12, at home on Monday. Nia Kostidikas had a team-leading six kills. Megan Tierney added five kills and three blocks, Hailee Burgess recorded 12 digs, had 13 service points and two aces, Helen Simmons finished with 17 assists and Amelia Kennedy totaled seven digs, three aces and three kills.
Boys Soccer - A three-game winning streak was snapped when Madison (3-2) lost at Morristown-Beard, 5-2, on Monday. Morristown-Beard had a 4-1 goal advantage in the second half. The Dodgers had a 14-9 advantage in shots on goal. Massimo Banfi put in four of Mo-Beard’s five goals. Madison takes on Morristown Saturday morning at 10.
