Madison Wrestlers Drop Region 3 Quarterfinal Matches

UNION, NJ - Madison wrestlers Santi Arango and Kyriakos Kostidakis had their chance at a region title come to an end Friday night as each lost a decision in the quarterfinals of their respective weight classes at the NJSIAA Region 3 tournament held at Union High.

Both have a chance to wrestle their way back to win a spot in the state finals.

Arango (23-5) dropped a major decision to Alex Esposito of Cranford, 10-1, in his 220-pound match. 

Kostidakis (22-7) had  lost to Michael Kellstrom of Chatham in the opening match of the regular season and the junior lost a 4-1 decision to Kellstrom in the heavyweight quarterfinals on Friday.
