Madison's Bottle Hill Day Rescheduled For October 24

MADISON, NJ - Borough officials have confirmed this afternoon that the rumors can be put to rest and Bottle Hill Day will take place on Oct. 24.

Most of the vendors who were to attend the original Oct. 3 date, which was cancelled that morning due to weather concerns as it related to winds, tents and safety, have said they are able to attend.  As well, new vendors are calling in to obtain space that were currently unable to attend.

"Every vendor we spoke with that morning agreed that canceling the event was the right decision" said DDC Chairman Russell Stern.  "We always hope and plan for a great event, but the safety of the community is our highest priority."

Representatives from the Downtown Development Commission (DDC) noted that one of the benefits of rescheduling Bottle Hill Day is that they can now combine it with the MACA Sidewalk Art Gala.

Original artwork has decorated the downtown since May.  The DDC had planned a separate gala and auction for the 24th.  Those original pieces are now scheduled to be on display in the Bottle Hill Day beer garden and auctioned off at 6pm in front of Hartley Dodge.

"We appreciate everyone understanding our need to reschedule and we hope to have a great event on the 24th," said DDC Chairman Russell Sterm.

However, the car show will not be rescheduled in 2015.

"The bad weather didn't give us any breaks this year. In the interest of safety, both the car show and Bottle Hill Day were canceled," said Peter Daniele, the long-time car show chair and proprietor of Rose City Collision, Inc.
The 24th annual edition of the Madison Car Show, which is sponsored by the Chamber and P.B.A. Local 92, will be held in October 2016 concurrently, as per tradition, with Bottle Hill Day, Madison's annual town-wide festival.

Bottle Hill Day begins at 10a.m. and runs until 5p.m. with extended hours for the Beer Garden and MACA Auction until 7p.m.
