MADISON, NJ—Borough residents took to the election booths yesterday to cast their votes in New Jersey’s primary election.

Here are the official results for Madison’s borough council:

Carmela Vitale (D): 913 votes

John F. Hoover (D): 878 votes

Ronald C. Hendrickson (R): 506

Denis W. Schreiber (R): 481


Among these residents were hundreds of thousands of New Jerseyans who submitted their ballots for governor, as current Gov. Chris Christie (R) gets ready to step down in 2018.

Here’s a look at who could take Christie's spot next year as head of the Garden State:  

Kim Guadagno (R): 10,674 votes

Jack Ciattarelli (R): 9,378 votes

Philip Murphy (D): 10,423 votes

John S. Wisniewski (D): 6,444 votes
