MADISON, NJ – The 2017 May Day Committee has been hard at work planning this year’s event. This annual town-wide beautification campaign called “May Day in Madison” is a project of the Madison Downtown Development Commission (DDC) and the “May Day in Madison” Committee.

The committee encourages residents and businesses to start May off right by cleaning up Madison.

The borough wants to make this year’s May Day bigger, better, and cleaner than ever. Grab your family, friends and neighbors and head to downtown Madison on Saturday, May 6 to spread a lot of joy and maybe even some mulch.

May Day brings unique volunteer opportunities for all ages. Madison elementary school students have submitted designs for the volunteer t-shirts. Senior citizens volunteers deliver water to thirsty volunteers. As well, sponsors donate money to help fund the t-shirts and the hanging flower baskets that grace the lampposts downtown.

Join hundreds of volunteers to prepare the gardens and plants of Madison for the spring and summer. Don’t miss out on this annual beautification event.

Donation checks should be made payable to Madison Main Street Foundation and mailed to the Downtown Development Commission- May Day, Hartley Dodge Memorial, 50 Kings Road, Madison, NJ 07940.

If you would like to volunteer, please contact the DDC at ddc@rosenet.org or call 201-400-2349.
