MADISON, NJ - On January 11 th , the Madison Council began its virtual meeting by taking a moment of silence for local residents who passed away this month. Mayor Robert H. Conley took time to acknowledge each person and their many achievements.

Peter Cuva, 90, passed away on January 10 th . A member of the Marine Core, Peter served during the Korean War. Always giving back to the town, Peter supported various local charities including the Interfaith Food Pantry and the T.J. Martell Foundation.

Paul DeSena, 94, passed away on January 8 th . A skilled dental technician, he established Paul DeSena Laboratories in Madison. Outside of his job, Paul was a longtime member of the Madison Ambulance Corps.

Rocco “Rocky” J. Piana, 70, passed away on January 2 nd . A 1968 graduate of Madison High School, Rocky spent 30 years working as a computer programmer with Automatic Switch in Florham Park.

A moment was also taken to remember Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick, 42, of South River New Jersey. Brian lost his life on January 6 th while defending the Capital from rioters. Brian joined the United States Capitol Police in July 2008 and served in the First Responder’s Unit.

Mayor Conley and the Madison Council offer their sincere condolences to the families and friends who lost their loved ones. Their contributions will be remembered.
