Nominations Now Open for Annual Madison Chamber Extra Mile Award

Madison customers can now nominate their favorite local employees to receive the annual Extra Mile Award.

The award recognizes local workers who provide outstanding customer service, according to the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce, which hands out this honor each year.

Unlike other Chamber awards, the Extra Mile Award is selected by votes from Madison customers rather than by the Chamber Board of Directors. Nominations can be made this year through Tuesday, June 5.

“We encourage customers to take a moment to fill out a ballot in order to recognize, support and celebrate their favorite, best retailers and service-providers,” said John Morris, Chamber president and co-owner of Stewart-Morris Awards, Gifts & Flags on 71 Kings Road.

Nominations should contain the nominee’s name and place of business. The ballot should also include the submitter’s contact information and the reason for nomination.

Ballots can be emailed to Madison Chamber executive director Karen Giambra at, faxed to 973-822-0451 or mailed to Madison Area Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 152, Madison, NJ 07940.

All mail-in nominations must be postmarked by June 5 to be considered.

Winners will be invited to the Chamber’s annual awards dinner on Tuesday, June 12 at Brooklake Country Club in Florham Park. Chamber members will choose the “best written” nomination ballots and read them aloud at the awards dinner, Morris said.

According to Chamber officials, this event is the organization’s largest of the year, highlighted by a presentation of its Business Improvement awards and other Community Service awards.
