Richard “Dick" Hanlon answered his last call of service for the Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corps on Feb 15th, 2011.  While responding to a motor vehicle accident with several injuries, Dick became unresponsive in his vehicle.   Several members of the Madison Fire Department, Madison Police Department, and other agencies from around the area came to his aid in minutes.  Dick was taken to Morristown Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Dick was a member of the Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corps for 15 years.  He was also a past president.  Dick served his community with pride, respect, compassion, and most of all passion.
“Dick was the most compassionate, kind, caring, and gentle man the Corps had.  He never had a bad word to say about anyone and was the most respected member of our organization by all the emergency services in Madison.” said Captain Jim DeVico.
The Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corps will miss him dearly.  His smile always lit up a room and his love for dancing always made social and fundraising events exciting.
In Lieu of flower, Dick’s family asks that donation be made to the Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corps, 29 Prospect St. Madison NJ 07940.
