Photography of Mike Tesi at Madison Public Library

The photography of Madison resident Mike Tesi will be on exhibit in the Chase Room of the Madison Public Library from November 1st through the 30th.  Tesi is a commercial and fine art photographer specializing in all facets of advertising work as well as a vastly experienced portraitist.

His home and studio are in Madison,  where he does advertising, and portrait photography for local, national and international corporations and publications, New York and New Jersey advertising agencies and design firms, national consumer and trade publications as well as individuals. His images have appeared in numerous publications including: Town & Country, Architectural Digest, Vogue, Gourmet, Stereo Review and the New York Times Magazine as well as many specialty and trade journals.

Mike thrives on solving visual challenges with lighting and composition.  He enjoys transforming the mundane to the visually exciting.  Tesi explained that “Making a two dimensional photograph of a person or product jump off the page is my goal.  I want the viewer to look at the picture and want to know more about the subject, enough to turn the page for more or ask questions about what they see.  I want a reaction to my subject, especially if it’s a product or a person selling a product. Much of my enthusiasm comes from the fact that I did many different things before making photography my career and when the bug bit it changed my whole life.  It didn’t happen overnight.  It started as a hobby and kept growing into a passion that I couldn’t deny.”

A reception, which is free and open to the public, will be held on Saturday, November 6th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm in the Chase Room.

The public is asked to call the library to check on available viewing times for the exhibit.  The Madison Public Library is located at 39 Keep Street.   For further information, please call (973) 377-0722, Ext. 226.
