MADISON, NJ - A walk-off single led the Madison U8 team past Maplewood 3-2 last week to end the Championship season. The game was tied at two with the Dodgers batting in the bottom of the sixth when Patrick McKeever singled on a 3-2 count, scoring Timmy Fitzsimmons for the game winning run. 

Pitching was strong on both sides. Madison struck out 12, while Maplewood sat down 11.

Maplewood opened up scoring in the first inning.

Remington Mortman led things off on the hill for Madison. He went three innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out six. McKeever pitched the last three innings, allowing one run on three hits striking out six. 

Maplewood's first pitcher went three innings, allowing two runs on one hit and striking out seven. 

A strong infield did not commit any errors. Madison U8 Season record was 12-1.
