The Salvatore Minardi Salon in Madison hosted a fundraiser for the Red Lily Foundation on Wednesday, November 14th. Proceeds from the sold out event will be donated to Red Lily, an organization dedicated to raising funds for research into the causes and treatment of Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS).

POTS is a debilitating autonomic disorder that makes simple daily activities such as standing a challenge. The condition affects 500,000-1,000,000 Americans, most of them young women and teens, among them the daughter of one of Salvatore Minardi's clients who was unable to attend her junior and senior years of high school due to symptoms related to the disorder. When Salvatore heard her story he offered his salon and staff for an event to raise funds and awareness.

Following hair cuts, color, and treatments by Minardi stylists, clients were treated to a complimentary makeover by a Bobbi Brown make-up artist while enjoying delicious cupcakes provided by the Sweet Spot Bake Shoppe in Chester. Also donating proceeds of sales from the event was Accessorize with Style of Randolph whose display of jewelry, scarves, and other fashion accessories was the perfect accompaniment to a day of beauty. Madison businesses Sages Pages, Avenue Travel Group, Madison Eyes, and Long Valley's Home: European Fine Furniture added to the festivities by sponsoring and decorating stylist mirrors or donating  baskets.
