Rotary Club of Madison Announces the 6th Annual Colombia Independence Day Festival

The Rotary Club of Madison is pleased to announce the 6th Annual Colombia Independence Day Festival to be held at the Madison Area YMCA on Sunday, July 22 from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m.

Members of the Fundacion Unidos por Filandia (United for Filandia Foundation) and Quindianos Unidos por Colombia (United Quindianos for Colombia) have organized their group of volunteers to assist in the event. The celebration is a great family-fun day with soccer games for the adults; face-painting for the kids and piñatas.

Once again, this event promises to be an ethnic feast with an expanded menu of Colombian food favorites such as empanadas, avenas,  mosarepas, chuzos, chorizos, helados, etc.     Entertainment will include a children’s folkdancing troupe, Colombian dance music, and a special performance by MASKAO, a popular 9-member dance band who specialize in merengue, salsa, and vallenato music.  No smoking or drinking is permitted at this event.
