On Monday, we saw a storm that drastically effected Madison.

I would like to take the time to personally thank the employees of the Madison Electric Department, Police Department, Fire Department, Department of Public Works and Water Department as well as the Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corps for their quick actions and response to the numerous outages, flooding, alarms, and downed wires. The entire team worked together to respond to each and every call.

Monday was an observed holiday for borough employees, but each and every member of the critical teams were ready and able to respond in a timely fashion as they were called in to ensure that power was promptly restored for the health and wellbeing of all Madison residents.

As we previously mentioned, power was restored borough wide from the first outage within 60 minutes and was restored as soon as JCP&L restored power to our two feeder lines after a downed tree and faults caused the intermittent outages later in the evening. We are determined to continue conversations with JCP&L leadership to discuss how we can ensure incidents like this do not occur in the future.

The swift actions that all departments took the other night were just one of the many reasons why Madison was recently named the #1 Best Place to Live by New Jersey Monthly!
