MORRISTOWN, NJ - The Morristown Art Gallery opened the Susan G. Komen’s North Jersey Journeys of Courage on February 20. The exhibit is a photographic journey that chronicles the stories of both Breast Cancer survivors and those who have tragically lost their lives to it. Through a collaboration between Susan G. Komen North Jersey and American Express, these stories were showcased under one roof for the first time.

By presenting the power and resolve of those with Breast Cancer, Journeys of Courage aims to inspire those who are fighting the disease. Along with serving as motivation, this event acted as a gathering of the survivors, fundraisers, and dedicated members of Susan G. Komen North Jersey to build momentum leading up to its upcoming fundraiser Komen’s More Than Pink Walk.

Those in attendance heard from 75-year-old survivor Lois Solomon. Despite being diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer, Lois has been fortunate to survive for 11 years “I feel like a miracle.” Lois' friends and family actively fundraise for Breast Cancer. Recently, her granddaughter raised $2,000 through a lemonade stand.
