Congressman Lance and Congressman Michael Burgess of Texas discuss business before the House Energy and Commerce Committee, with a focus on the Takata Air bag recall.
Congressman Leonard Lance proudly represents New Jersey’s Seventh Congressional District which includes parts of Essex, Morris, Somerset, Union and Warren counties as well as all of Hunterdon County. Lance serves on the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee, which has broad legislative jurisdiction including national energy and environmental policy, health and health facilities, interstate and foreign commerce, consumer affairs and consumer protection, and travel and tourism. As a member of the committee, and vice chair of a subcommittee on manufacturing and trade, Lance plays a role in protecting and expanding jobs in New Jersey’s energy, life sciences and telecommunication sectors. He also chairs the Congressional Rare Disease Caucus and the Israel Caucus. Lance started the Seventh District Congressional Report to give constituents another platform to hear from their federal representative on the issues before Congress and gain a better understanding of the regular business of the House of Representatives, the work before the Energy and Commerce Committee and how various issues affect New Jersey and local municipalities.
