MORRISTOWN, NJ - Some streets were closed and buildings evacuated today as police investigated several packages that were left at a local Starbucks.

The police response came this afternoon after a man left two unusual packages at the cafe, situated at 40 West Park Place at the corner of Market. Authorities quickly closed down Maple Street and Market Street.

"A male walked into Starbucks and stated, 'Don't worry there are no bombs in here,' and dropped two bags in the middle of the store," according to an alert published by the Breaking News Network (BNN) at 2:57 p.m. "Bomb Squad and Police are in route," it added.

Bomb squad officers entered the building as well as an officer wearing just a vest. A short while later, one of the officers left the Starbucks and gave the 'thumbs up' all clear sign.

Maple and Market Street were subsequently reopened to the public, but police dogs were still at the Morristown Green at 4:22 p.m.

During the incident, residents were cleared from the first floor only of the apartment building adjacent to the store's location, but spectators remained on the roof viewing the scene unfold below.

This incident comes on the heels of two bomb explosions, one in Seaside Park and one in New York City as well as the discovery, and police detonation, of a pipe bomb in Elizabeth where a suspect was arrested.
