Union Beach Summer Camp Initiative Pays Off

MADISON, NJ - The Madison Rotary volunteered much time and effort over the summer to assisting the Monmouth County community of Union Beach and its families. The Family Festival held on June 15 and 16 was packed with activities to benefit Union Beach families.

At the last Borough of Madison meeting, Madison Rotarians Rocco Iossa and Ellsworth Havens presented a check to Mayor Robert Conley and council in support of the Union Beach Summer Camp Partnership.  Proceeds from the Family Festival were donated in the amount of $3,839.23.

"After the Madison – Union Beach partnership came up with the idea of sending some kids from Union Beach to camp, the Rotary Club jumped in with the idea of using the proceeds from the festival to support the effort . Support from the Rotary Club and other generous donors allowed 48 children to attend summer camp”  The mayor indicated that typical postcards from some of the kids who were able to attend described their experience as “an awesome time.”
