MADISON, NJ - We continue to monitor what appears to be a “quick hitting storm” that is on track to impact Morris County. The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a “Winter Storm Warning” from midnight tonight until 4pm Thursday.

The snow is expected to move into our area overnight tonight, generally developing between 11p.m. this evening and 1am tomorrow (Thursday) morning. The data suggests that the snow will intensify by 4-5a.m., with moderate to occasionally heavy snow then likely to continue through about noon. The heavy snow may make many roads potentially impassable for several hours during the worst part of the storm. We also may experience power outages due to the weight of the snow on tree limbs and power lines.

Lingering lighter snow may continue into the afternoon hours, before finally tapering off by 4-5p.m. Total accumulations of 6-11 inches are forecasted at this time. We anticipate rapid accumulations on all surfaces and a significant impact to the morning rush hour.
