Wrestling: Madison Falls to Number One-Seeded Hanover Park 49-18 in First Round of MCT


MADISON, NJ — The Madison Dodgers suffered an opening round 49-18 loss to cross-town rival Hanover Park in the first round of the NJSIAA North 2, Group 2 Morris County Tournament.  The loss snaps a two-game winning streak and drops their record to 8-10 on the season.

It was a tough matchup for Madison as they faced the number one-seeded team in the North 2, Group 2 bracket.

The Dodgers were only winners of three matches, giving them 18 points as their total score. Drew Johnson (113 pounds) and Damian Garrubbo (182) were able to pin each of their opponents for the Dodgers. Kyriakos Kostidakis (285) added six points with a forfeit.

Madison will look to get back on track when they play Governor Livingston on Saturday, February 11th at Madison High School.
